In de overkoepelende lijst komen 857 titels voor die in twee of meer lijstjes worden genoemd.
Dat zijn om de een of andere reden titels die "iets" hebben.
Van die 857 titels waren er begin juli 2002 658 titels aanwezig in de collectie van de Openbare bibliotheek Oss.
Uit deze 658 titels zijn twee top 124's samengesteld.
Criteria
1. De titel is aanwezig in de collectie van de Openbare bibliotheek Oss
2. Alleen artiesten die met twee of meer platen of meer voorkomen in de overkoepelende lijst doen in deze top 124 mee
(Gram Parsons met slechts één titel doet niet mee) (eigenlijk zijn het twee titels!?)
3. Van elke artiest wordt slechts één album opgenomen
4. De titel die van een artiest wordt opgenomen wordt het vaakst genoemd in de overkoepelende lijst
(The White album van The Beatles en niet Rubber soul)
5. Indien enkele titels even vaak worden genoemd dan wordt de oudste titel geselecteerd
(of bij uitzondering de bekendste of de doorbraakplaat)
