In november 2023 werden ter gelegenheid van het 30-jarig bestaan door de redactie de dertig belangrijkste platen van de afgelopen dertig jaar geselecteerd én in een artikel toegelicht. Dat leverde onderstaande lijst op, met een uitzondering: in 2011 werd geen album gekozen, maar een artiest, Amy Winehouse (haar overlijden). Voor het gemak heb ik haar beste album voor dat bewuste jaar genomen: Back to black (verscheen in 2006). Verder is opvallend
dat er van de negenentwintig nummer een-platen
van 1994 t/m 2022 slechts zeven in 2023 werden geselecteerd. Zegt
(natuurlijk) iets over het belang van die jaarlijstjes. (HvD, maandag 15
