"Assembling a list of the 50 top blues albums of the past 50 years is no job for one man. To find a consensus on these albums during the national "Year Of The Blues" we asked approximately 80 musicians, record company folks and journalists to submit lists of their 5 desert island discs...So, it was largely left to the younger generations of torch bearers to determine which post 1950 blues albums are the standouts. The "Seminal Six" are the albums most frequently listed, with Hoodoo Man Blues the runaway favorite. Among the remaining 44 are obvious selections and some surprises." - Frank-John Hadley
